Wrigleyville bars charging insane cover prices to watch Cubs games

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Watching the Chicago Cubs at a bar near Wrigley Field won't cost you quite as much as a ticket to Games 3, 4, or 5 of the World Series, but won't come cheap either.

Some Wrigleyville bars are charging as much as $250 per person to get through the door for this weekend's home games - and that doesn't even guarantee a seat, according to Ariel Cheung and Dong Jin Oh of ChicagoDNA.

At HVAC Pub, for example, tickets for all-you-can-eat pizza and wings are going for $250 (which includes some drinks). For an extra $1,000, you can get a table for six plus a bottle of Grey Goose vodka and a bottle of champagne.

Rockit Burger Bar is charging $40 for standing room and $100 per table, while Yak-Zies has a cover charge of $25 and an hourly table surcharge of $50. The bars not charging cover are expected to have long lines hours before the games start.

Another option? Watch the game at home.
