There will be more fist-pumping at the Rogers Centre next season as the Toronto Blue Jays announced they've exercised reliever Jason Grilli's $3-million club option Saturday, according to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi.
The animated 39-year-old hurler appeared in 46 games this past season with the Blue Jays, posting a 3.64 ERA in 42 innings pitched. Mostly appearing in a setup role for Toronto behind closer Roberto Osuna, Grilli also crafted a 1.12 WHIP while striking out 12.4 batters per nine innings.
Grilli was brought over in a midseason trade with the Atlanta Braves in May.
