Orioles' Duquette: 'Our fans don't like Jose Bautista, with good reason'
Talk about being blunt.
We now know there's one team out there Jose Bautista will not be signing with any time soon.
Baltimore Orioles executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette confirmed Wednesday that his organization will not go after Bautista because, frankly, they don't like the cut of his jib.
"We told (Bautista's) agent that we are not interested because our fans don't like him," Duquette said, according to Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan. "Our fans don't like Jose Bautista, with good reason."
To say Bautista isn't liked by Baltimore fans would be an understatement. The ex-Toronto Blue Jays outfielder has had a number of incidents with pitcher Darren O'Day and outfielder Adam Jones.

Despite their disdain for Bautista, the Orioles know that even then, he might still be able to help the team, but the price would have to be right.
"Of course, that may change (if the price comes down)," Duquette added. "But the (qualifying offer) makes things difficult.
