Sometimes a player's best effort just happens to be in the Twittersphere.

Throughout 2016, hundreds of MLB players used their Twitter accounts to drop a fire take, share a classy gesture, expertly jaw back at trolls, or simply give fans a behind-the-scenes look at their lives.

Some tweets even showed us how close the baseball family truly is, such as when players poured out support after the untimely death of Jose Fernandez in September.
