Royals players left in disbelief after Ventura's death
Members of the Kansas City Royals were left heartbroken Sunday as they received the news that pitcher Yordano Ventura - known within the clubhouse as "Ace" - was killed in a car accident at the age of 25.
Some of Ventura's teammates subsequently took to social media to remember the young starter:
I am still in disbelief. I am going to miss you Ace! The clubhouse won't be the same without you. #RIPAce
