Stanton's offensive firepower is a boost to a stacked Team USA outfield already confirmed to consist of Adam Jones, Andrew McCutchen, and Marlins teammate Christian Yelich. Stanton slashed .250/.326/.489 last season with Miami including 27 home runs and 74 RBIs in 119 games.

Team USA will open their tournament March 10 at Marlins Park - Stanton's home stadium - against Colombia. It will be the slugger's second time representing the country after having done so in the 2013 edition.
