Watch: Carrasco explains why he uses microwave to loosen up glove
Carlos "Cookie" Carrasco is an interesting guy and an even better pitcher, so it's not particularly surprising that he takes a more innovative approach to loosening up his glove.
"It's really great. Every year, you know, every time when those guys send me an email (saying) 'you have to get ready your glove,' I get really excited, you know I start to build up my glove" Carrasco said. "I just put it in the microwave for a little bit. That's right, put it in the microwave, get it soft. Ya, just get it soft, and that's what I do for the last two years."
Hey, whatever works.
The Cleveland Indians right-hander has been one of the American League's better starters since his emergence in 2014, combining to a 3.22 ERA, a 3.00 FIP, and 9.8 strikeouts per nine innings.
