Red Sox's Hanley Ramirez: Out of WBC

Ramirez had originally planned to suit up for the Dominican Republic, but the Red Sox have been carefully monitoring the veteran's shoulder soreness, and finally decided to pull the plug. Although Ramirez has been able to swing a bat this spring, the soreness has prevented him from playing the field, though he was still scheduled to leave the team until Thursday morning's news. Now, the 33-year-old will remain under the supervision of the Boston medical staff.
