Report: Orioles agree to minor-league deal with Edwin Jackson

The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly agreed to a minor-league deal with veteran right-hander Edwin Jackson, sources told Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun on Wednesday.
Completion of the deal is pending a physical.
Jackson can earn a total of $2.45 million through both his base salary and performance bonuses should he be called up to the Orioles, according to Encina. For now, he'll report to the team's extended spring training before receiving a minor-league assignment.
Jackson can opt out of the deal if he's not on the major-league roster by June 1.
The 33-year-old Jackson split last season between the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres, posting a 5.89 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 61 strikeouts in 21 appearances (13 starts). Jackson owns a career 93-114 record and 4.65 ERA over 14 big-league seasons.
If he makes at least one appearance for the Orioles this season, Jackson will join Mike Morgan, Matt Stairs, and Ron Villone as the only players in baseball history to have suited up for 12 different franchises. Former reliever Octavio Dotel holds the sport's all-time record, having played for 13 teams during his career.
