Kevin Chapman's World Baseball Classic came to an end Sunday when Canada was eliminated from the event by USA, and now the 29-year-old must pack his bags for a different spring training home.
Chapman was claimed off waivers from the Houston Astros by the Atlanta Braves on Monday, according to a team announcement.
The left-hander has 58 big-league appearances under his belt since 2013, pitching eight innings in the show for the Astros last season, allowing eight earned runs in eight innings pitched.
Chapman had a great year in 2013, when he posted a 1.77 ERA across 25 appearances, but has yet to replicate the same kind of success.
Over the course of his big-league career, Chapman owns a 3-1 record with a 4.09 ERA during 55 innings.
