Padres' Buddy Baumann: Lands on disabled list

Baumann (undisclosed) was placed placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday.

Analysis:

The southpaw reliever is still on the mend from a bike accident in March that resulted in him landing on his shoulder. He'll be eligible to return from the DL less than two weeks into the season, but the Padres have yet to provide a firm timetable for a potential return date. Fortunately for the Padres, they have a surplus of left-handed relievers at their disposal out of the pen, which lessens the impact of Baumann's absence.
