Braves to offer beer brewed with wood from baseball bats at SunTrust
When fans of the Atlanta Braves funnel into the team's brand new stadium, SunTrust Park, for the home opener on April 14, they'll be provided with an opportunity to know what a baseball bat tastes like.
The Braves will offer a beer created by local brewery Terrapin Beer Company called The Chopsecutioner, which is actually made with wood chips from a Mizuno baseball bat, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

Terrapin's offering is an IPA with a light flavor, according to CBS Sports' Matt Snyder, who sampled the beverage during a sit down with brew master Brian Buckowski, who created the beer.
"We brew the Chopsecutioner and after the fermentation we transfer the beer onto the wood chips and then cool the beer down and age it," Buckowski told Snyder. "There’s some waste from bats from when they spin them down or carve them down and that’s the product that we use to age the beer. The wood chips from them making the bats and that’s what we use."
Terrapin will also offer two other baseball themed beers - On Deck IPA and Swing Batter Brown Ale - at SunTrust,
