Here is a look at the Squad Up daily MLB fantasy picture for the six-game evening slate beginning at 4:05 p.m. EST, Sunday, April 16:

Hitter Stacks

  • New York Yankees vs. St. Louis Cardinals (RHP Adam Wainwright): Wainwright gave up a whopping 11 hits and five earned runs in four innings last time out. The 6.18 road ERA he sported last year only adds to the appeal of New York's lineup. A few veteran Yankees have been manufacturing runs of late with strong averages and aggression on the basepaths.

3-player stack: OF Jacoby Ellsbury (49K), 2B Starlin Castro (47K), 3B Chase Headley (44K)

  • Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers (LHP Cole Hamels): Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz both found success against lefties last year, with Cruz smashing his way to a .644 SLG percentage versus southpaws. Cano and Cruz have both seen Hamels at least 15 times over their respective careers, so familiarity will be on their side.

2-player stack: Cano (54K), Cruz (57K)

Pitcher Breakdown

  • TARGET - RHP Michael Pienda (82K), Yankees (vs. Cardinals): When Pineda's hot, there are few pitchers who can match his stuff. Coming off an 11-strikeout performance, having some exposure to his electricity is hard to resist. The risk here is obvious for anyone familiar with Pineda's erratic style, but so is the upside. St. Louis sits 11th in strikeouts and 29th in batting average to start the season.
  • FADE - LHP Cole Hamels (69K), Rangers (at Mariners): Hamels has posted two quality starts to open the season. He is a reliable arm and usually a safe selection. But Sunday in Seattle could be a different story. The Mariners slashed .255/.322/.427 against lefties last year and Hamels has a 5.79 ERA in five career starts in Seattle. For this start, Hamels' upside looks somewhat capped.

Bargain Plays

  • OF Norichika Aoki (28K), Astros (at Athletics): Aoki has gone 2-for-4 with a run scored in three straight games. For the second-cheapest player on Sunday's evening slate, that isn't too shabby. The Houston offense has an OPS of .749 through their first 12 games. RHP Jharel Cotton labored through his first start but flew through his second. Whether he comes out firing is difficult to handicap.
  • SS Taylor Motter (41K), Mariners (vs. Rangers): Motter has just 25 career at-bats to his name against lefties, but has hit .360 in those limited appearances. Should Cano and Cruz get on base ahead of him, Motter may be able to collect a few RBIs. Through his past four games, Motter is 7-for-15 with three runs and five RBIs.

Top Fades

  • 2B Joe Panik (57K), Giants (vs. Rockies): There's no reason for Panik to be priced among the superstars. Accordingly, there's no reason for you to select him at this price tag. Panik already has a limited power profile, and that will only suffer further within the confines of AT&T Park.
  • 1B Joe Mauer (54K), Twins (vs. White Sox): Mauer is an aging veteran that lacks the power and potential he once had. Like Panik, he is drastically overpriced relative to his current hitting profile. Mauer's collected a hit in six of his past seven, but they've all been singles.
