Reddick introduces sick WWE-style championship belt to Astros clubhouse
And in this corner, hailing from Savannah, Ga., standing 6-foot-2 and weighing in at 195 pounds, your undisputed champion of the Houston Astros: Josh Reddick!
The Astros outfielder is a massive professional wrestling fan. When he was with the Oakland Athletics in 2013, he and former WWE Champion - and current "Smackdown" commissioner - Daniel Bryan engaged in a beard off.
Now, he's brought a little piece of championship hardware to the Astros clubhouse.
According to the Houston Chronicle's Jake Caplan, Reddick is going to present the belt to whoever is crowned the Astros player of the game on a nightly basis.
"I think it's a team vote, but I will always be the presenter because I am the one with the referee shirt," Reddick said. "And with my knowledge of wrestling stats and whatever else you want to call it, who else would be a better candidate?"
On home turf, Reddick and the rest of the Astros will be playing the babyfaces to the opposing Texas Rangers' dastardly heels Wednesday night. Will Reddick-mania run wild or will Rugged Rougned Odor have something to say about it?
