Rocket Jr. could be heading north of the border.

The Toronto Blue Jays selected University of Texas at Austin first baseman Kacy Clemens, son of former major-league pitcher Roger Clemens, in the eighth round (249th overall) of the MLB draft on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old senior has enjoyed his best season playing for Texas, slashing .305/.414/.532 in 62 games with 12 home runs and 49 RBIs.

Before Clemens, Toronto had already signed or drafted four players whose fathers are former major leaguers: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (son of Vlad Sr.), Bo Bichette (son of Dante), Cavan Biggio (son of Craig), and Dwight Smith Jr. (son of Dwight Sr.).

Clemens was drafted as a pitcher by the Houston Astros in 2013 but decided against signing with the team and returned to school, where he transitioned to the field.

If the younger Clemens ends up signing with the Blue Jays, he'd be the second member of his family to join the organization, as Roger spent the 1997 and 1998 seasons with Toronto, winning back-to-back Cy Young Awards.
