Pitchers better start taking Adam Wainwright a little more seriously when he grabs a bat for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Wainwright crushed a curveball from Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Brandon McCarthy into the left-field stands for his 10th career home run Thursday, moving him into sole possession of third place among active pitchers* in the category, behind Madison Bumgarner and Yovani Gallardo.
*Not including Jordan Schafer, who converted from a position player to a pitcher.
