Judge dons 'Great Hambino' shirt for postgame interview
Aaron Judge: Masher of baseballs, current Triple Crown leader, and fashion icon.
The 25-year-old New York Yankees outfielder decided to pay homage to Hamilton "Ham" Porter from the 1993 film "The Sandlot" - one of baseball's most iconic fictional characters - by donning the unique dress shirt after a stellar day at the plate Sunday in a win over Baltimore.
Nicknamed "The Great Hambino," Porter's performance in the movie, along with his memorable quotes, earned him quite the following over the years.
Judge's decision to wear the shirt comes on a day he and Yankees fans surely won't forget. The slugger hit his 20th and 21st home runs of the campaign, one of which traveled a season-high 495 feet.
Judge and teammate Matt Holliday appear to have similar taste and appreciation of style as the veteran also got in on "The Great Hambino" action.
Since the start of June, Judge has hit .353/.488/.618 with 16 hits, four home runs, and 10 RBIs. As the great Porter said: "Low and outside...just like I like it."
