Red Sox pick Houck has motivational tattoo from 2014 draft
When the Boston Red Sox selected right-hander Tanner Houck with the 24th pick in Monday's MLB entry draft, it wasn't the first time the 20-year-old had been drafted by a big-league club.
Houck was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 12th round (354th overall) of the 2014 draft, which is a memory the youngster won't soon forget.
After opting to go to college instead of signing with the Blue Jays, Houck got a motivational tattoo.
The inside of Houck's left wrist reads: "RD12/PK354/BLUEJAYS'14," which he used as encouragement to improve.

Obviously the ink helped as the Missouri product moved up 330 positions in this year's draft.
