Puig receives 1-game suspension for obscene gesture
Sorry Yasiel, but those birds just aren't going to fly with Major League Baseball.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine after directing an obscene gesture toward Cleveland Indians fans during a game Tuesday, MLB chief baseball officer Joe Torre announced.
Puig will appeal the decision and is eligible to play Wednesday against the Indians.
After hitting a two-run home run against Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer and rounding the bases, Puig extended both of his middle fingers and directed the gesture toward the crowd behind home plate.

The eccentric Cuban outfielder said after Tuesday's game he directed the gesture toward "about four" hecklers who were irritating him before and after his home run at-bat.
"I reacted that way," Puig said, according to Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times. "I stooped to their level."
