Mariners' Pat Light: Heading to Mariners
Light was claimed off waivers by the Mariners on Saturday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis:
Light was designated for assignment by the Pirates on June 10, but his passable 3.76 ERA with Pittsburgh's Triple-A affiliate caught the Mariners' eye. He has a live arm, routinely sitting in the mid 90s with his fastball, although he hasn't been able to translate any of his minor-league success to the big leagues. To make room for him on the active roster, Ryne Harper was designated for assignment.
