Cubs' Jason Heyward: Diagnosed with hand abrasion

Heyward exited Sunday's game against the Pirates with a left hand abrasion, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Initial reports suggested that Heyward injured his left wrist while sliding for a foul ball in the second inning, but it appears that the injury actually occurred on his hand. The fact that it was only a cut suggests that the Gold Glove outfielder won't be sidelined for long, but it's entirely possible that he'll be held out for a game or two in order to allow the wound to heal.
