No mass ejections were going to stop the Toronto Blue Jays on this day.
Just one night after hitting consecutive ninth-inning home runs to complete an incredible comeback against the Oakland Athletics, the Blue Jays finished their four-game sweep of the A's in even more dramatic walk-off fashion Thursday afternoon. After Liam Hendriks loaded the bases in the bottom of the 10th, Steve Pearce crushed a 3-2 offering off the left-field foul pole for a walk-off grand slam to give the home side an 8-4 victory.
Pearce joins George Bell (1988) and Gregg Zaun (2008) as the only Blue Jays to hit walk-off grand slams in franchise history, per Sportsnet Stats.
