Good things come to those who wait.
Especially, so, on a wet Wednesday in the Bronx, where New York Yankees reliever Dellin Betances fired an immaculate inning in the top of the eighth, striking out Jim Adduci, Justin Upton, and Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers on nine pitches upon returning from a rain delay - the second of the day - that lasted three hours, 11 minutes.
Betances, a four-time All-Star, is the sixth pitcher in Yankees history - and first reliever - to record an immaculate inning, joining Brandon McCarthy, Ivan Nova, A.J. Burnett, Ron Guidry, and Al Downing.
