Report: Kinsler fined by MLB for incident with umpire Hernandez
Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler was reportedly fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Baseball for his incident with and critical comments about umpire Angel Hernandez during a game earlier this week, according to Katie Strang of The Athletic Detroit.
Kinsler will not be suspended as a result of the incident, Strang reports.
During the Tigers' game on Monday against Texas, Kinsler was ejected by Hernandez during an at-bat, and the incident prompted a tirade from the 35-year-old criticizing Hernandez's work as an arbiter in every aspect.
"It has to do with changing the game," Kinsler said on Tuesday. "(Hernandez) is changing the game. He needs to find another job. He really does."
Kinsler and Hernandez appeared to make up when they exchanged a few words and shook hands before the first inning of Wednesday's contest.
Hernandez, for his part, told The Associated Press that he didn't care about what Kinsler said.
