Padres' Jordan Lyles: Called up by Padres
Lyles was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Analysis:
Lyles signed a minor-league deal with the club in early August after being released by the Rockies, and figures to help out in some capacity over the course of September. It remains to be seen whether he will get an opportunity to start, as the Padres have a doubleheader coming up Saturday against the Dodgers, but he is likely to serve as a bullpen arm just as he did in Colorado.
