Report: Yankees interested in re-signing Sabathia
CC Sabathia may finish his career in pinstripes.
The 37-year-old is in the final year of his contract, though the New York Yankees reportedly have interest in bringing Sabathia back on a one-year deal in the range of $8 million-to-$10 million, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
Despite concerns regarding the health of his right knee, Sabathia has enjoyed a resurgent season. He's posted a 3.85 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 105 strikeouts over 131 innings, and owns a 3.14 ERA over his last five starts.
The Yankees will need to add at least one starter this winter, with Sabathia, Jaime Garcia, Michael Pineda, and potentially Masahiro Tanaka all hitting free agency.
Sabathia has spent the last nine seasons with New York and ranks sixth in Yankees history with 1,438 strikeouts.
