Report: Associates believe Royals GM may replace Coppolella on Braves
After news of John Coppolella's resignation as Atlanta Braves general manager made the rounds earlier Monday, the club may already be closing in on his potential replacement.
Associates close to Kansas City Royals general manager Dayton Moore believe he's likely to take over Coppolella's former role in Atlanta, according to USA TODAY Sports' Bob Nightengale.

Moore has history with the Braves, which may facilitate a move for the executive. In 1994, he joined the organization as a scout and eventually worked his way up to become the Braves' assistant GM in 2005, where he worked under Atlanta's current president, John Schuerholz.
The 50-year-old Moore has served as the Royals GM since 2006. He is responsible for piecing together some of Kansas City's best teams in recent years, including their World Series-winning side in 2015.
