Home plate umpire Jerry Layne took quite a bit of punishment during the National League Division Series on Thursday, and he made sure to give a little back to Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras, albeit in a joking manner.
After Layne took a bouncing pitch off the mask in the sixth inning, he took another pitch off the mask in the eighth, this time a direct shot courtesy of a Wade Davis pitch that crossed-up Contreras.

After Layne was checked by a trainer, he gave Contreras a little jab as payback for not catching the ball.
