Report: 'Not a doubt' Alex Cora will be named Red Sox manager
Houston Astros bench coach Alex Cora is considered to be the top choice as the next manager of the Boston Red Sox, an industry source told Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston.
"Not a doubt it is him," the source said.
On Thursday, Las Mayores - the official Spanish Twitter account of Major League Baseball - also reported that Cora would be named Red Sox manager immediately following the conclusion of the American League Championship Series.
Confusion ensued, as the tweet was removed shortly after. This would lead to Red Sox president Dave Dombrowski denying the claims, saying no official decision has been made, according to Ian Browne of MLB.com.
In the past week, Cora was interviewed by the New York Mets and Detroit Tigers for their manager vacancies.
