Michael Brantley and Josh Tomlin will remain with the Cleveland Indians for at least one more season.
The club picked up the options on both players Friday ahead of the deadline. Brantley's option is valued at $12 million, while Tomlin's is worth $3 million.
Brantley has spent his entire nine-year career in Cleveland. Despite an All-Star year in 2017, his future remained in question due to injuries limiting him to just 101 games over the past two seasons. Brantley underwent ankle surgery in October, and is expected to miss the next four-to-five months.
Tomlin made his major-league debut with the Indians in 2010, and has called Cleveland home ever since. The 33-year-old went 10-9 with a 4.98 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 109 strikeouts across 26 starts this season.
