Report: Stanton may be unimpressed by potential landing spots
Any potential trade for Giancarlo Stanton won't come down to what the Miami Marlins want.
Though a report Friday from MLB Network's Jon Morosi singled out the Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, and Boston Red Sox as four teams who have held preliminary talks about acquiring the Marlins slugger, any potential swap would require Stanton to waive his full no-trade clause.
That contractual tidbit might not bode well for Boston, St. Louis, and San Francisco, specifically, as those close to Stanton report the outfielder isn't fascinated by those cities for "different reasons," according to Peter Gammons of GammonsDaily.com.

While it's unclear how Stanton feels about the city of Philadelphia in regards to the Phillies' reported interest, the 28-year-old said in September he does not want to partake in another rebuild after years of losing.
Stanton and his mammoth contract - which guarantees him at least another $295 million until 2028 - are widely expected to be moved this winter by the Marlins, who are under the new ownership of Derek Jeter and Bruce Sherman. Stanton is coming off the best season in his eight-year career, having slashed .281/.376/.631 with 59 home runs and 132 RBIs in 2017.
