The St. Louis Cardinals inked a relative unknown to a $15.5-million contract on Tuesday.
Not only did they claim themselves someone who revived his career in Japan, but the Cardinals also acquired a player with an interesting nickname and past.
Pitcher Miles Mikolas is sometimes referred to as the "Lizard King" - a nickname given to him after eating a live lizard following a lost bet in 2011 when he was with the San Diego Padres organization.
