Report: Stanton doesn't want trade to Giants
Boasting a full no-trade clause, Giancarlo Stanton controls the process, and the Miami Marlins slugger apparently isn't interested in joining the San Francisco Giants despite rumors pinning that as his likely landing spot, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Along with the Giants, the St. Louis Cardinals are the only other team to have reached a trade agreement with the Marlins pending Stanton's approval, but the reigning National League MVP reportedly prefers the Los Angeles Dodgers or New York Yankees.

Stanton and his representation met with the Giants and Cardinals this past Friday and Saturday, respectively, but according to Rosenthal, both clubs may turn to other solutions if deliberations take too long.
The Giants reportedly offered their top four prospects in a package for Stanton, and are expecting a decision by the end of this week with the winter meetings looming.
Meanwhile, reports that Stanton would veto a trade to the Cardinals have been circling since early December.
