Baseball's offseason market has been slow, and while top free agents like Yu Darvish and Jake Arrieta remain unsigned, another starter coming off a solid campaign is still unemployed - although he appears to have plenty of suitors.
Lance Lynn has a "healthy market" and is being considered by at least four teams: the Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Angels, Baltimore Orioles and Milwaukee Brewers, according to MLB.com's Jon Morosi.
The 30-year-old Lynn, who's also fielded reported interest from the Washington Nationals and Texas Rangers, pitched well in his return from Tommy John surgery last season.
Across 33 starts for the St. Louis Cardinals, he orchestrated an 11-8 record with a 3.43 ERA and 1.23 WHIP, leading the Cardinals' rotation in starts, ERA, and opponents' batting average (.223). He was previously an All-Star in 2012 when he went 18-7.
Lynn is one of many starters, including Darvish and Arrieta, who are still remaining on the free-agent market. Fellow right-handers Alex Cobb, Andrew Cashner, and Jeremy Hellickson are available, as are southpaws Jaime Garcia and Jason Vargas.
Because Lynn was extended a qualifying offer, the team that signs him must forfeit draft-pick compensation.
