Yolmer Sanchez wins arbitration case over White Sox
The Chicago White Sox will pay Yolmer Sanchez $2.35 million next year after a group of arbitrators sided with the infielder following Wednesday's hearing, the team announced.
The White Sox entered arbitration against Sanchez separated by $250,000, submitting a $2.1-million figure.
This marks the first time Sanchez has been eligible for arbitration after qualifying for Super Two status by accruing at least two years and 123 days of service time in his first three seasons. The 25-year-old infielder will be eligible for free agency following the 2021 campaign.
In 141 games last year, Sanchez posted a .267/.319/.413 slash line with 12 home runs and eight stolen bases while splitting time between second base, third base, shortstop, and a brief two-inning stint in right field.
