Cubs officially announce 6-year deal with Darvish
Welcome to the North Side, Yu Darvish.
The Chicago Cubs made things official Tuesday, announcing the signing of the All-Star right-hander to a six-year contract.
The #Cubs and RHP Yu Darvish have agreed to terms on a six-year contract through the 2023 season.

Darvish arrived at Cubs camp in Mesa, Ariz., on Tuesday. He'll be introduced at a press conference scheduled for 1 p.m. CT, according to Rick Morrissey of the Chicago Sun-Times.

The deal is reportedly worth $126 million in total value. It also contains an opt-out clause after the 2019 season, and escalator clauses based on winning the Cy Young Award.

Darvish also received a full no-trade clause for the first part of the contract, and a 12-team no-trade list for the remainder, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported on Sunday.
The 31-year-old split last season between the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Dodgers.
