Blue Jays place Garcia on DL with left shoulder inflammation

The Toronto Blue Jays are down another starter.

Jaime Garcia was placed on the 10-day disabled list Friday with left shoulder inflammation. Right-hander Deck McGuire was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.

It's been a tough season for Garcia, who owns a 6.28 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 38 2/3 innings. He allowed six runs off six hits and three walks over 3 2/3 innings during his last start Tuesday against the New York Mets.

Garcia joins fellow starter Marcus Stroman on the DL.

McGuire allowed three runs in 3 1/3 innings with the Blue Jays earlier this month. He owns a 2.70 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in five starts with Buffalo this season.
