The Didi Gregorius show is airing from coast to coast.
After hitting a go-ahead home run in the 10th inning Friday night against the Los Angeles Angels, the New York Yankees shortstop received a curtain call, even though the game was being played at Angels Stadium.
Gregorius said he was hesitant to pop out of the dugout to receive his ovation, but Yankees teammate Aaron Judge encouraged it.
"It was a little weird for me, but there's a lot of (Yankees) fans here," Gregorius said, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. "I didn't expect that, to be honest. Judge said, 'Give the fans what they want.'"
It was the 10th home run and 30th RBI of the month for Gregorius. The Yankees held on to win 4-3.
