The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will play a two-game series on June 29-30 of 2019 at London's Olympic Stadium, according to a report from The Associated Press.
With Major League Baseball previously expanding regular-season games to Mexico, Japan, and Australia - as well as Puerto Rico - these will be the first MLB games played in England and in Europe.
The news of games being played in London comes days after it was announced that the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics would open the 2019 campaign in Tokyo.
Interestingly, Red Sox owner John Henry also acts as principal owner for Liverpool F.C. of the English Premier League. That being said, West Ham United calls London Olympic Stadium home throughout the year.
