Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jameson Taillon suffered a lacerated middle finger during his last start and is willing to try a rather unorthodox treatment to get back on the field if need be.

Friends and fans have reportedly suggested using urine to treat the finger, and Taillon is all ears.

"I said if it helps, I'll put a sign-up sheet and everyone can come and pee," Taillon told Jerry DiPaola of TribLive. "I don't care. I just want it to go away."

He added: "If it helps, I would do it. I'm not scared, man. I just need to be out on the field. ... I'm open to anything."

Taillon, 26, was pulled from his last start - Andrew McCutchen's return to PNC Park - after three innings. The right-hander allowed one hit and one walk while punching out five Giants batters on 51 pitches.

While the young starter was open to trying it, he chose to clarify his intentions on Twitter, claiming it is "not my thing," while still remaining playful about the topic:

Rotation mate Trevor Williams was willing to volunteer his services in order to help his teammate heal:

Former outfielder Moises Alou was known for urinating on his hands to alleviate calluses.

Taillon is still listed as the Pirates' starter for Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox.
