With the 22nd pick in the 2018 MLB amateur draft, the Colorado Rockies selected Ole Miss left-hander Ryan Rolison.

The sophomore southpaw was highly touted out of high school, but was adamant about his commitment to Mississippi. Rolison doesn't have an especially overpowering fastball, predominantly living in the low-90s. However, the medium-framed pitcher boasts a pair of polished breaking-ball offerings, with scouts particularly fond of the curve.

Since 2013, the Rockies have used three of their first picks on pitchers including Jon Gray and Kyle Freeland. Most recently, in 2016, Colorado used the fourth overall pick on hard-throwing righty Riley Pint.
