Royals draft Stanford southpaw Kris Bubic No. 40 overall
With the 40th pick in the 2018 MLB amateur draft, the Kansas City Royals selected Kris Bubic, a junior right-hander from Stanford University.
Bubic, a native of San Jose, has been a staple of the Cardinal's rotation during each of the last two seasons. He's also starred against the wood bats, tallying 41 strikeouts in 32 2/3 innings while pitching in the prestigious Cape Cod League during the summer of 2017.
