Yankees' Tanaka exits with hamstring stiffness after running bases

The New York Yankees certainly missed the designated hitter spot Friday after losing their starting pitcher to an injury he suffered while running the bases.
Right-hander Masahiro Tanaka exited after scoring the tying run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning due to stiffness in both his hamstrings.
"I feel it right now, it's pretty tight," Tanaka said following the game. "I can't really say yet (if I'll miss my next start). Going to be reevaluated so we'll have a clearer picture tomorrow."
Tanaka had been excellent, allowing just one run off one hit and a walk, while striking out eight New York Mets on 75 pitches.
