Gattis, Ozuna named Players of the Week
Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis and St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Marcell Ozuna were named Players of the Week for their respective leagues Monday.
Gattis took home American League honors after hitting .417/.423/1.000 with four home runs, two doubles, and 15 RBIs. He collected five RBIs in back-to-back games against the Oakland Athletics before having a four-RBI game against the Kansas City Royals. Gattis beat out Mike Trout, who hit .684/.750/1.368 with four home runs, seven RBIs, and seven walks.
Ozuna's bat is finally starting to come around following a slow start. He led all National League hitters with four home runs and was tied for a share of the lead with eight RBIs. Ozuna slashed .455/.478/1.000 with just three strikeouts in 22 at-bats.
