Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp will serve a one-game suspension Wednesday night stemming from an altercation he had with Texas Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos on June 13.
Kemp appealed the suspension but it was ultimately upheld, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.
The 33-year-old ran through the Rangers catcher while trying to score on a ball to right field and the two got into a shoving match following the collision, resulting in ejections for both players.
Chirinos served his suspension on June 15.
Since the appeal, Kemp has batted just .156 with three home runs over 11 games. He is hitless in his last 11 plate appearances.
