Nationals' Eaton calls reports of clubhouse dysfunction a 'load of crap'

The Washington Nationals may not be in shambles after all.

After reports surfaced that things were "a mess" in the team's clubhouse, prompting rumors about the potential trade of superstar Bryce Harper, outfielder Adam Eaton cleared the air Tuesday.

Eaton called the reports "absolutely false" and a "load of crap," according to MLB.com's Jamal Collier. He went on to say he's been on dysfunctional teams before and the Nationals aren't one of them.

In recent weeks, two of the team's top pitchers, Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg, were involved in a heated argument in the dugout during a game. Shortstop Trea Turner also became the latest player to have insensitive tweets resurface.

"I don't see dysfunction in our clubhouse," manager Dave Martinez said, before admitting some of his players are frustrated with results, according to Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post.

Washington enters play Tuesday sitting third in the National League East, 5 1/2 games back of the division-leading Philadelphia Phillies.
