Brewers acquire Gio Gonzalez from Nationals
The dismantling of the Washington Nationals continued Friday, with the team trading left-hander Gio Gonzalez and international slot money to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for infielders KJ Harrison and Gilbert Lara, according to a team announcement.
Gonzalez was still in the Nationals' dugout, and in uniform, during Washington's game against the Brewers on Friday. The two teams had started a three-game series.
After the contest concluded in Milwaukee's favor thanks to a 4-1 victory, Gonzalez fought back tears while discussing his seven seasons with the Nationals.

Milwaukee has long been on the hunt for a front-of-the-line starter, and Gonzalez fits the bill.
The 32-year-old is 7-11 with a 4.57 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 27 starts in 2018. However, he's also a former 21-game winner and two-time All-Star and has twice finished among the top six in Cy Young voting during his career.
He'll join a Milwaukee rotation that entered Friday 10th in the National League in ERA and 8th in WHIP.
