David Price played Fortnite to prep for Game 5

David Price and Fortnite are one of a kind.

To prepare for his Game 5 start in the World Series on Sunday, the Boston Red Sox left-hander played Fortnite with teammate Nathan Eovaldi, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

In May, Price was lambasted for playing the popular video game after he missed a start because of carpal tunnel syndrome.

The 33-year-old later said Fortnite wasn't to blame for the issue, adding that since joining the Red Sox he's played the "least amount of video games" of his big-league career, according to The Canadian Press.

"I saw the Brewers were playing Fortnite on their jumbotron. This is very common. I know a lot of teams, a lot of guys, are really into it," Price explained at the time.

"I've always played video games. I've always played it with my teammates, during the offseason, at the field, at the hotel. That's kind of my generation. That's what we do. If I need to shut down video games and pick up a new hobby, then so be it. But I do not think that's the cause."

Playing the game before Game 5 didn't seem to affect Price. He dominated the Los Angeles Dodgers, tossing seven innings of three-hit ball while helping the Red Sox secure their fourth World Series title since 2004.
