Report: Indians more inclined to move Bauer than Kluber, Carrasco
While previous reports suggested the Cleveland Indians might deal Corey Kluber or Carlos Carrasco this offseason, the club might wind up trading a different rotation piece.
Cleveland is reportedly more inclined to move Trevor Bauer, reports USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
The Indians are reportedly open to discussing possible trades for everyone on the roster other than Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez, but Bauer comes with cost uncertainty with two arbitration years left before hitting free agency. The right-hander is projected to earn $11.6 million in arbitration.
Recent rumors have the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds discussing business with the Indians, with the latter focusing solely on Cleveland's top-pitching options.
Bauer is coming off a career year, where he led the American League in FIP (2.44) among qualified pitchers and also posted a career-best 2.21 ERA.
Bauer missed more than a month near the end of last season with a small stress fracture in his right fibula after being hit with a line drive. He returned to make three starts in September, followed by three appearances in the ALDS.
