Athletics land Soria with 2-year, $15M deal
The Oakland Athletics signed right-handed reliever Joakim Soria to a two-year contract, general manager David Forst confirmed Friday, according to The Athletic's Melissa Lockard.
Forst says Joakim Soria fits into bullpen really well, A's trying to be creative in figuring out pitching. Calls him a significant weapon at back end of bullpen.

The deal is worth $15 million, reports Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports.
Soria, 34, is coming off of a three-year deal worth $25 million originally signed with the Kansas City Royals.
The right-hander opened the 2018 season with the Chicago White Sox but was moved to the Milwaukee Brewers prior to the July non-waiver trade deadline. Over 60 2/3 innings, Soria posted a 3.12 ERA and 2.44 FIP.
Soria's 16 saves were all notched as a member of the White Sox, where he authored an impressive 2.56 ERA. After being traded to the Brewers and demoted to a setup role, Soria's ERA swelled to 4.09.
A career reliever, Soria has spent his 11-year career with six different teams, including the aforementioned trio, the Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers, and Pittsburgh Pirates. The veteran owns a 2.88 ERA and 3.01 FIP over 634 1/3 career innings.
